  • Overview

    The GMF Funding Operations Funder is responsible for funding auto loans or leases while maintaining the highest level of integrity. The Funder evaluates all documents, programs, and verifications for validity prior to funding the loan or lease. This team member interfaces and provides superior customer service to internal and external customers (i.e. credit center personnel, automobile dealers, loan applicants, etc.).

    Responsibilities

    JOB DUTIES

    • Perform accurate credit investigation, analysis, verifications and audit of all documentation required to complete the loan or lease funding processes, according to the company's operating policies and procedures within the assigned deliverable standards
    • Ensure all credit decision requirements, documents and/or stipulations are followed and/or obtained
    • Maintain current knowledge of state and federal regulatory requirements relating to contract documentation, lien perfection, and the company's operating programs, policies and procedures
    • Provide quality customer service to the credit center and dealer network, while ensuring potential risk is minimized for the company through thorough and accurate verification
    • Basic negotiation, follow up and relationship building skills
    • Establish relationships with credit center team members and dealership personnel
    • Maintain a consistent and high level of communication with internal and external customers via all sources of communication (i.e. phone, email, and system documentation)
    • Maintain and promote the highest level of integrity while developing one's own skills and competencies
    • Maintain the security and confidentiality of pertinent information and records
    • Set high standards of performance for self

    Qualifications

    Knowledge

    • Knowledge of GM Financial funding and credit policies
    • Knowledge of planning, personnel administration, budgeting and financial analysis
    • Understands dealership operations
    • Knowledge of state laws and regulations regarding auto finance industry
    • Knowledge of federal laws and regulations regarding auto finance industry
    • Understands credit center operations
    • Knowledge of phone etiquette
    • Understanding of FundsNow policies as it relates to properly documenting and completing third party verifications
    • Understanding of indirect lending processes
    • Understanding of GM Financial systems and policies
    • Understands dealership operations
    • Knowledge of AS400, CACS and credit decisioning systems
    • Knowledge of Loan Services' core business functions, policies and procedures

    Education

    • High School Diploma or equivalent required
    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience preferred

    Experience

    • 0-2 Years loan processing experience in a consumer finance/bank environment   Preferred
