  • Overview

    ​The Software Architect I is responsible for the development of technical specifications through analysis of functional and business requirements, coordinating the high and low level design effort on projects, providing guidance and mentoring on technical issues, helping to define and document development standards and providing architectural oversight on projects to ensure that systems conform to GM Financial's architectural standards. This employee has contact with other company departments.

    Responsibilities

    JOB DUTIES

    • Create technical specifications utilizing the Unified Modeling Language (UML) for distillation into technical specifications.
    • Participate in project planning during all phases of the project life-cycle as needed.
    • Assist in the development and maintenance of architectural standards companywide.
    • Define and document development standards for the team.
    • Conduct peer reviews of technical documentation to ensure quality, consistency, and standards.
    • Act as a mentor providing guidance to all team members on technical and architectural issues.

    • Advanced knowledge of business processes for supported business groups

    • Significant experience in a large and complex business environment
    • In-depth knowledge of security frameworks (e.g., ISO 27000, NIST, FFIEC, etc.)
