  • Overview

    The VP Commercial Credit is responsible for the infrastructure for commercial lending to auto dealerships, including floorplan, construction and permanent real estate loans, capital loans and revolving lines of credit. Establishes lending guidelines and holds approval authority up to $15 million. Researches and recommends programs, pricing strategies, and operating efficiencies. Develops product promotion strategies, provides dealer support, and sales operations training. Provides guidance and strategy for meeting department objectives. Additionally, this position will contribute to building brand value and achieving enduring profitable growth.

    Responsibilities

    JOB DUTIES

    • Develops internal capabilities for commercial lending
    • Manages all aspects of commercial credit underwriting, program design, pricing and system requirements
    • Ensures departmental compliance to regulatory requirements and company policy
    • Monitors portfolio performance; reports activity and statistics to senior management; recommends changes to corporate strategy
    • Reviews and makes adjustment to policies and procedures as necessary to minimize risk of loss to the company
    • Integrates credit strategy into the organization
    • Develops and implements strategies for meeting aggressive growth objectives
    • Develops commercial lending system strategies and manages implementation thereof
    • Secretary and primary facilitator of executive commercial credit committee
    • Applies commercial credit policies, procedures, and delegation of authority guidelines
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    Knowledge

    • Extensive knowledge of accounting, financial statement analysis, cash flow, credit underwriting and dealer workout
    • Extensive knowledge of dealership, fleet/commercial and indirect auto finance industry operations
    • Advanced understanding of commercial lending with emphasis in captive automotive dealership financing
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
    • Knowledge of reporting and analytics

    Education

    • Bachelor’s Degree In related field required
    • Master’s Degree In related field preferred

    Experience

    • Greater than 10 years Directly related professional level experience in an automotive commercial lending environment, including experience in creating and presenting ideas to executive management required
    • Five or more years in a management role, providing leadership, coaching, guidance and training and contributing to staff development.
