  • Overview

    The AVP for RPA will provide leadership, coordination, and management in the delivery of multiple, strategic, complex RPA initiatives. This role will need to lead a team of RPA and Process Excellence SMEs to drive our goal of using an RPA capability to maintain our competitive advantage in the auto finance market. This leader will also assist team members who are responsible for successfully implementing RPA initiatives. This includes leading and mentoring other team members as they develop and use their RPA knowledge, Project Management and Process Excellence acumen. This leader will interact with all levels of management and departments across the organization.



    • Engage multiple levels of leadership within the organization to champion the benefits of RPA and help prioritize all RPA opportunities within the business
    • Serve as a central lead for RPA governance routines and business operating processes
    • Work closely with the Technology solutions team to ensure requirements are accurately documented and suitable for RPA development and deployment
    • Articulate the need to have business processes well-documented as part of RPA solutioning and support the business in the development of their process documentation
    • Be able to present to senior leaders on the progress of the RPA capability: current state vs future state, reports on cost savings and new efficiencies
    • Understand the risks and dependencies associated with the RPA capability
    • Summarize and formulate viable recommendations for the improvement of business processes, operational efficiencies and internal controls
    • Train, coach, and mentor regarding RPA improvement concepts and techniques
    • Lead strategic projects or programs within the Process Excellence project portfolio
    • Provide proactive reporting of programs and projects which include funding document creation, financial forecasting, resource planning, and periodic status documentation
    • Provide proactive risk management, identify risks and provide mitigation options
    • Effectively identify issues critical to the business or department, collect information and make sound recommendations while pro-actively challenging the status quo
    • Macro manage, incorporate an open-door policy and foster new ideas and perspectives
    • Coach and mentor team members to establish a consistent level of quality, accuracy, compliance to departmental standards, state and federal regulations, and internal controls
    • Implement team member and self-development opportunities



    • Proven knowledge of RPA deployment methodologies and technologies like Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism, etc
    • Must exhibit strong knowledge of GM Financial or another auto finance company core business functions, policies and procedures
    • Must possess extensive knowledge and expertise in enterprise IT program/project management, portfolio management, related methodologies and tools
    • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree preferred
    • Lean Six Sigma Green/Black belt certification preferred
    • Project Management Professional certification preferred


    • Skilled in the use of RPA deployment methodologies and technologies like Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism, etc
    • Strong abilities with active listening and communicating effectively with others both verbally and in writing
    • Strong abilities in proactively building relationships with business partners
    • Ability to use good analysis and judgment when solving problems or making decisions
    • Ability to provide leadership through influence, inspiration, collaboration and teamwork
    • Ability to utilize Microsoft Office to create effective and efficient deliverables (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Visio, Project)
    • Ability to develop effective presentations; able to adjust and apply changes quickly
    • Familiar with statistical software packages such as Minitab, SigmaXL, etc
    • Familiar with business architecture programs (ie, Sparx Systems' Enterprise Architect)
    • Ability to demonstrate integrity in the management of work demands and pressures
    • Ability to continually pursue personal development
    • Must be a self-starter, able to operate efficiently within given parameters and deadlines

    Additional Knowledge and Skills

    • Launched or led an automation capability which includes establishing KPI metrics, a significant pipeline of RPA initiatives and performance reporting of each
    • Experience working in a professional office environment required


    • Bachelor’s Degree required


    • 3-5 years of demonstrated experience using the knowledge acquired from RPA environments required
    • 5-7 years of experience in IT project management, enterprise program management experience preferred

    • Long hours may be required in order to meet departmental goals
    • Occasional travel might be required (less than 10%)
