    About the Risk Management Forecasting Team

    The Risk Management Forecasting team is responsible for analyzing and projecting credit losses, delinquency, and outstanding receivables for the North America APR and Lease portfolios on a monthly and quarterly basis.  The team supports multiple departments including Servicing, Corporate Finance, Pricing and Product Development.  The forecast models and related analysis are also the primary framework for communicating portfolio performance trends and expectations to Executive and Senior leadership.


    The Risk Analyst II – Portfolio Forecasting is responsible for assisting in the design, development, and maintenance of complex portfolio forecasting models. The models are used to support corporate planning, financing and account servicing operations. In addition, this position is responsible for analysis and reporting on factors that affect portfolio performance such as delinquency, loss frequency, loss severity and bankruptcy, and payoffs.



    • Assist in the design, development, and maintenance of sophisticated portfolio forecasting models
    • Utilize data mining and advanced spreadsheet skills to participate in complex portfolio forecasting, modeling, analysis, and reporting related to factors that affect portfolio performance such as delinquency, loss frequency, loss severity, bankruptcy, and payoffs
    • Employ best practices of data analysis and validation to ensure data results are accurate
    • Promote innovative ways to visualize and digest complex data
    • Proactively monitor and report relevant changes in portfolio performance to management
    • Effectively summarize and communicate portfolio performance trends, expectations, forecast methodology and results to management


    Reports to: AVP – Portfolio Forecasting   

    Direct Reports: none




    • Advanced with Microsoft Excel, particularly in building multi-tab, complex models
    • Experience with Excel VBA is a plus
    • Experience with respect to data analysis and spreadsheet modeling and/or reporting
    • Experience with coding (SAS or SQL preferred) for data mining and manipulation
    • Querying skills and knowledge in a data warehouse environment
    • Demonstrated quantitative skills
    • Acute attention to detail
    • Effective written and verbal presentation skills
    • Ability to interact collaboratively and proactively with internal customers
    • Capable of managing multiple projects, including ability to coordinate and balance numerous tasks in a time-sensitive environment, under pressure, meeting deadlines


    • Demonstrated understanding and experience with the following:
      • Data warehouses
      • Data mining
      • Reporting
      • Data analysis and visualization techniques
    • Understanding of the metrics utilized in monitoring the performance of a consumer lending portfolio is a plus


    • Bachelor's degree required and Master’s degree (preferred) in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Business, MIS, or other quantitative field
    • 3+ years of experience working with complex Excel models, querying large multi-table datasets, and data presentation required
    • Experience in consumer loan portfolio forecasting and analysis preferred
    • The qualified candidate will also be able to demonstrate proficiency with the following tools:
      • Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
      • SAS and/or SQL (preferred)
      • VBA (preferred)
