  • Overview

    ​ The Software Development Manager - IT Services is responsible for leading the Quality Engineering Team in the development and execution of automation development, while providing leadership and direction with specific focus on automation functions. The Manager develops plans, procedures and programs for implementing an automation suite to evaluate the accuracy and reliability of applications to ensure all product performance standards are maintained. The Manager is responsible for creating safeguards against risk through proactive guidance, comprehensive documentation and continual assessment of GM Financial's business processes and internal controls via Automated Regression, Service Virtualization, Test Data Management and other automation activities. The Manager will promote team member integrity, ethical compliance and build upon our established culture. The Manager will have contact and interaction with all levels of management and departments across the organization as well as external customers, auditors, vendors and/or state examiners.

    Responsibilities

    JOB DUTIES

    • Implement the strategic automation testing roadmap to include testing tools, processes, standards and methods, release calendars, leveraging industry standards and best practices.
    • Initiate collaborative efforts across testing teams at GMF.
    • Develop and implement processes that produce relevant testing artifacts such as test coverage metrics and automation suites.
    • Mentor the Engineering and Analyst staff to establish a consistent level of quality, accuracy, accountability, and compliance with department standards.
    • Research staffing alternatives and recommend strategies appropriate to different initiatives.
    • Establish, manage, and report on key quality metrics.
    • Plan and implement consistent growth in the use of industry-standard automation testing tools.
    • Translate broad strategies into specific actions plans, utilizing existing resources and information to achieve strategic objectives and improve business results.
    • Foster and champion an environment that promotes trust, continuous improvement, innovation, quality outcomes and self-development.
    • Foster open communication, that welcomes information sharing, seeks input from others and values diverse viewpoints.

    Qualifications

    • Ability to correct PC related problems in a timely manner
    • Working knowledge of WAN security and design
    • Good knowledge of WAN security and design
    • Advanced knowledge of WAN security and design
    • General working knowledge of networking concepts including TCP/IP, Subnetting, Routing, DHCP, Command line and DNS
