  • Overview


    The Credit Review Analyst I is responsible for performing independent and unbiased monitoring and assessments of the company's underwriting and funding activities. This team member will work closely with the Dealer segments by monitoring compliance and proactively addressing non-compliant areas in order to develop corrective action plans.



    • Perform quality monitoring across the organizations by analyzing, summarizing, and monitoring compliance of credit policies and procedures.
    • Identify underwriting and funding weaknesses, address areas of non-compliance, and recommend change when necessary.
    • Assist in the development and support of models, analysis, and reporting related to the soundness of credit activities.
    • Analyze, summarize, and monitor compliance with credit policies.
    • Create reports for management with viable recommendations for improvement of business operations, efficiencies, and internal controls.
    • Coach, mentor, and assist fellow team members to establish a consistent level of quality, accuracy and compliance to departmental standards and internal controls.
    • Consult with management when needed and make recommendations on policy exceptions and control weaknesses to ensure that findings are correct.
    • Assist the Credit Review Manager with the distribution of incoming work.

    • Detailed understanding of the auto finance industry, including funding and/or underwriting of originations.
    • Ability to understand GM Financial's business, apply knowledge and critical thinking skills in day-to-day problems and solutions.
    • Working knowledge in the fields of finance, statistics, accounting, and/or consumer credit.



    • Ability to use appropriate judgment, analysis, and logic when solving issues, providing recommendations, and making decisions.
    • Ability to plan, execute and improve work processes to ensure achievement of business objectives with little direct supervision.
    • Situational analysis is critical to interpreting underwriting activities compared to corporate policy.
    • Extremely organized with a concentrated emphasis to detail.
    • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication and skills.
    • Strong problem solving skills.
    • Sound self-management skills.
    • Able to undertake multiple tasks with minimal supervision and be self-motivated.
    • Ability to proactively achieve goals and objectives, which positively impact GM Financial's overall business results.

    • Ability to work discreetly with confidential information and situations.
    • System skills required include, but are not limited to, application processing systems such as Provenir, AS/400, AmeriView.



    • Bachelor's degree in related business field preferred, or equivalent work experience.
    • 1-3 years automobile lending experience is required.
    • 1-3 years prior credit review experience in a consumer lending environment that is highly dependant on credit scoring.



    Normal office environment, but must be able to cope with the stress of management and meeting project deadlines.
