  • Overview

    The Continuous Auditor Senior I is responsible for participating in continuous audits of Corporate (Operational and Financial) and IT functions throughout GM Financial by leading team members and assessing process risks, identifying and evaluating the design of controls, assisting with data analytics support, and developing and maintaining continuous audit tests. This position will work directly with the Corporate and IT audit teams and GM Financial management, to ensure effective continuous audit support and guidance.

    Responsibilities

    Assist the AVP Data Analytics, VP Audit Operations, and Continuous Audit Staff in developing and maintaining continuous audit tests, including the development and maintenance of scripts.

    Lead the execution of continuous audit tests.

    Communicate continuous audit test results to Audit teams and Audit management.

    Identify control weaknesses, regulatory compliance issues, and other areas of risk.

    Assist the AVP Data Analytics or VP Audit Operations with the completion of (audit) special requests.

    Stay up to date on the latest techniques and trends in the arena of continuous auditing.

    Perform leadership roles and other duties as needed to accomplish departmental objectives.

    Promote a cooperative and productive work environment.

    Build and maintain effective professional relationships within and outside the Internal Audit Department.

    Conform to all corporate policies and procedures.

    Qualifications

    Knowledge

    Working knowledge of internal audit processes and generally accepted auditing standards.

    Working knowledge of federal and state regulations (associated with GM Financial's business), including GAAP.

     

    Skills

    Knowledge of Microsoft Office is required. 

    Knowledge of audit software and tools (e.g., Arbutus, ACL, IDEA, MS Access, SAS, etc.) is preferred.

    Able to work independently and as a member of a team.

    Ability to develop and execute audit tests with minimal supervision.

    Ability to exercise judgment.

    Detail and deadline oriented.

    Excellent communication, written and verbal skills.

    Good Business Acumen.

    Ability to independently evaluate and maintain a level of professional skepticism.

    Leadership skills.

    Self-motivated.

    Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within and outside the Internal Audit Department.

     

    Additional Knowledge Skills and Abilities

    Professional certification must be achieved within one year of service, if not already achieved (i.e. CPA, CIA, CFE, CISA, etc.).


    Education

    Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance with a minimum of 12 hours of Accounting required

    Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology preferred

     

    Experience

    0-2 years of limited supervisory experience required

    0-2 years knowledge of anti-fraud controls required

    2-4 years experience in the audit field preferred

    Finance/Lending related industry experience preferred

     

    Working Condition

    Normal office environment. 5%-10% travel required.
