  • Overview

    The Physical Security Systems Administrator (PSSA) will support the installation, configuration, administration and operational maintenance of GM Financials physical security systems infrastructure to include personnel access control systems, CCTV surveillance systems, integration with intrusion detection and fire alarm systems, and mass communication and radio over IP (ROIP) systems.  The PSSA will provide technical support and system training to various teams within Corporate Security. The PSSA will monitor infrastructure performance and work to resolve issues directly with security team members and system integrators.  This position requires 4x7 on call support to respond to security systems issues and emergencies.

    Responsibilities

    JOB DUTIES

    • Perform security system administration, configuration management, routine maintenance, performance tuning, and troubleshooting to maintain system integrity
    • Assist in the coordination of system implementation and upgrades; provide technical and operational guidance to security integrators
    • Collaborate and coordinate with IT stakeholders to ensure compliance with IT standards and network connectivity for all physical security devices
    • Manage maintenance work order process and provide updates as necessary
    • Organize and prepare detailed documentation of system performance, including service request records and analysis
    • Assists in training of end-users and other support personnel on security applications
    • Manage inventory of security equipment, components and consumables
    • Keep informed of current security trends, standards, guidelines, developments and techniques
    • Perform other duties and / or projects as assigned

    Qualifications

    Knowledge

     

    • Understanding of general office procedures
    • Working knowledge of building and construction terms
    • Working knowledge of City, County, and State Laws related to the operation and occupancy of office space

    Skills

    • Advanced PC software applications such as Excel, Word, Power Point
    • Applying local safety regulations
    • Developing and sustaining internal/external customer relationships
    • Good organizational skills
    • Good verbal and written communication skills
    • Team player with the ability to effectively work individually in a fast paced environment

    Education

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Computer Science, Information Systems (MIS) or equivalent experience required

    Experience

    • 0-2 Years of experience with physical security system design and engineering,
      of experience planning and executing security systems installations in office and data center deployments
      Professional board certification in a relevant security discipline required
