  • Overview

    The Portfolio Monitoring Analyst - CLS is responsible for conducting financial review and analysis of GM Financial floorplan dealers based on risk, financial statement analysis and debt service history. This position will also utilize data from the inventory audit system in conjunction with the financial statements to evaluate the risk associated with individual dealers and recommend an appropriate course of action to mitigate risk.



    • Monthly analysis of dealership financial statements.
    • Monthly rating of each dealership utilizing the GMF Risk Rating Model.
    • Monitor portfolio performance; report upgrades/downgrades in risk rating, analyze financial statements in conjunction with inventory audits to mitigate risk within the portfolio.
    • Assess changes to the dealers' business operations and recommend changes to meet their needs.
    • Develop and execute action plans for underperforming dealerships.
    • Communicate findings of monthly analysis to GMF Sr. Management.
    • Provide job knowledge transfer to Portfolio Monitoring Analyst (s) to strengthen financial review skills department -wide
    • Continually review departmental policies and procedures to ensure relevance, completeness, accuracy and compliance.
    • Conduct or assist in performance of Due Diligence audits, either on-site at dealership facilities or remotely.



    • Understanding of commercial lending with emphasis in captive automotive dealership financing
    • Understanding of dealer operations
    • Knowledge of reporting and analytics
    • Knowledge of Salesforce.com
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
    • Knowledge of dealership, fleet/commercial and indirect auto finance industry operations
    • Knowledge of credit underwriting
    • Knowledge of accounting, financial statement analysis, cash flow and dealer workout

    • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting Finance or related field required


    • Experience in commercial lending preferred

    Work Condition

    • Occasional overtime or split shifts may be required.
    • Normal office environment.
    • Strong focus on providing quality service to internal and external customers.
    • Limited travel may be required to support business needs.
