  • Overview

    The Firewall Infrastructure Engineering Manager, under the general direction from the AVP Firewall Infrastructure, will assist in the day-to-day tasks critical to the team’s success.  This individual will be responsible for attending project meetings when necessary and assist in implementing infrastructure and security requirements. This individual will also become familiar with all compliance, regulatory and security requirements adhering to all corporate policies and standards. This person needs to be experienced in technology with good planning and management skills. An energetic, solution minded personality with drive, keen attention to details and excellent communication skills will be needed for success in this position.

    Responsibilities

    JOB DUTIES

    • Collaborates with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver the artifacts as needed.
    • Must have high attention to detail, foster a culture of attention to detail to the FWIE team.
    • Maintain project timelines, roadmaps, and ensure deliverables are met.
    • Responsible for team performance and compensation management
    • Ensure the FWIE team is properly trained and establish career development paths for the individuals.
    • Works independently and collaboratively
    • Resolves most conflicts between timeline, budget, and scope independently but intuitively.
    • Escalates complex or consequential issues to the AVP of firewall infrastructure.
    • Identifies and directs changes through appropriate review and approval mechanisms.
    • Provide all hours support to team as needed.

     

    Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent work experience in IT is preferred.
    • Experience in dealing with multiple business units and diverse employee population.
    • 1-5 years experience in IT management.

    Knowledge/Skills

    • Knowledge and understanding of industry trends and new technologies and ability to apply this to day-to-day work activities
    • Knowledge of enterprise platforms and operating systems as well as knowledge of key business functions and processes
    • Knowledge and understanding of Firewall, IPS, Proxy, SSL, VPN, and DDOS technologies
    • Advanced troubleshooting and networking knowledge also preferred
    • Mentoring and personnel development skills required

    Work Conditions

    • Normal office environment; may be stressful at times. There may be a requirement to occasionally work a flexible schedule with the possibility of working long hours.
