  • Overview

    The Contract Specialist II will coordinate the preparation of bids and contracts, the administration of contract proposals, and maintain contract files. The Contract Specialist II will evaluate contractual provisions to ensure business requirements are adequately represented, service levels expectations are addressed and cost commitments are thoroughly documented and understood by the department. This team member interacts with most internal departments at all levels of the organization and with external vendors.



    • Participate in the development of the organization's contracts. Anticipate contract issues/actions and provide contractual guidance to technical, business, and executive personnel that maximize cost effectiveness and minimize the Company's exposure to contractual and financial risk.
    • Review and analyze new contracts to ensure compliance with company objectives and standards.
    • Make recommendations and implement process and procedure improvements.
    • Maintain and monitor contract files to ensure compliance with company policy.
    • Participate in supplier negotiations and selection process. Negotiate service levels of contracts.
    • Act as liaison for supplier and company communication.
    • Gather supplier information from other company departments, as well as outside vendors.


    • Perform special projects as assigned.

    • Detailed understanding of safe harbor, model clause contracts, and data protection requirements.
    • Familiar with a variety of Purchasing concepts, practices, and procedures.
    • Familiarity with the CFPB, SSAE18, GLB and model clauses.
    • Strong understanding of IT technology projects and software/hardware maintenance contracts.
    • Relies on extensive skill and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
    • Working knowledge of contract development, contract related duties and responsibilities.
    • Working knowledge of purchasing related duties and responsibilities.



    • Must have tact and diplomacy in dealing with vendors and internal customers.

    • 4-7 years’ experience as a contract professional or legal experience.
    • Bachelor’s degree required.
    • Juris Doctor preferred.

    Must be able to deal with stressful office conditions while troubleshooting problems
