    • Substantial credit risk experience at the management level with respect to data mining, analysis, modeling, and planning
    • Extensive experience in leading and managing the design, development, and maintenance of origination and servicing scorecards, and complex analysis related to consumer finance portfolio performance
    • Proven ability to lead and develop a team of managers and analysts
    • Ability to proactively develop positive relationships with internal customers
    • Effective written and verbal presentation skills across a wide variety of audiences
    • Advanced knowledge of Hadoop, HBASE, Spark, H20
    • Advances skills with SAS and/or R, Python, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

    Responsibilities

    BASIC FUNCTIONS:

     

    The VP Decision Analytics plays a key role in enhancing origination and portfolio servicing strategies through the development of data driven credit risk solutions. This position focuses on improving loan acquisition, credit risk and account management strategies through the analysis, interpretation and presentation of origination and portfolio information. The VP Decision Analytics is responsible for summarizing and reporting this information to a variety of internal clients and interacting with other departments to achieve the overall company objectives.

     

    JOB DUTIES:

    • The VP Decision Analytics is responsible for leading several teams focused on:
      • Development and implementation consumer and commercial origination and servicing scorecards.
      • ECOA Reg B compliance reporting 
    • As the leader of these groups, the VP Decision Analytics is responsible for
      • Oversight of credit risk processes and resource allocation
      • Development and implementation of procedures to ensure the group provides a high level of service and professionalism
      • Effective leadership, organizational and project management
      • Design, development, and implementation of Big Data analysis, modeling, and model tracking
      • Manage the recruitment and selection of new team members
      • Coaching, mentoring, and training team members to establish a consistent level of quality, accuracy, accountability, and compliance to department standards
    • Additional responsibilities include:
      • Provide complex modeling and statistical support to all areas of Risk Management
      • Development of new models, tracking established models, and applying statistical thinking to new business areas.
      • Ensuring delivered products meet the business requirements
      • Research and identifying opportunities for statistical applications for new business areas and to improve the effectiveness of existing business strategies.
      • Partner with and provide recommendations to business leadership on the appropriate application of quantitative analysis, statistical modeling, and risk management techniques to business strategies
      • Communicate analytical results to Executive and Senior leadership throughout the company

    Qualifications

    QUALIFICATIONS:

     

    Skills

    • Capable of managing multiple and varied projects, including ability to coordinate and balance numerous tasks in a time-sensitive environment, under pressure, meeting deadlines while maintaining a big-picture perspective
    • Effective written and verbal presentation skills with an ability to communicate well with Executive and Senior Management
    • Ability to interact collaboratively with internal customers and external vendors
    • Demonstrated quantitative skills and ability to apply complex financial and statistical principles to projects
    • Ability to identify emerging business issues and place them into quantitative questions
    • Proven training, leadership, and development skills
    • Experience in data mining, data analysis
    • Experience with coding SAS and/or R for data mining, data manipulation, analysis and querying in a data warehouse environment
    • Highly recommended to have experience in big data analytics and big data mining

    Knowledge

    • Substantial credit risk experience at the management level with respect to data analysis, credit risk modeling, and strategic planning
    • Extensive knowledge of finance, statistics, economics, and consumer credit
    • Demonstrated understanding and experience with technical systems, rational datasets, data warehouses, data mining, big data, and data analysis techniques
    • Advanced knowledge of principles, standards, practices, and techniques relating to statistical modeling for a financial firm
    • Advanced knowledge of applied statistical methodologies, such as regression, logistic regression, sampling techniques, time series, survival analysis, cluster analysis, categorical data analysis, decisions trees, non-parametric techniques, principal components, experimental design, and linear programming techniques
    • Knowledge of credit bureaus and the structure of their credit files
    • Extensive knowledge of the laws that cover the usage of statistical models under the Equal Credit Opportunity Act
    • Advances skills with SAS and/or R, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
    • Advanced knowledge of Hadoop, Spark, Python

    Experience

    • Master’s degree required in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Econometrics, Operations Research or similar quantitative field.
    • Extensive experience in statistical / scorecard modeling
    • 4+ years of experience managing and leading a group of statisticians and analysts.
    • Advanced knowledge of Hadoop, HBASE, Spark, H20
    • Advances skills with SAS and/or R, Python, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
