  • Overview

    ​Under direct supervision, provides general clerical and administrative support to an officer level team member, up to senior vice president and may also support the department or group of professionals reporting to the vice president and/or senior vice president. This team member has contact with other departments within GM Financial, as well as individuals external to the company who contact the vice president and/or senior vice president.

    Responsibilities

    JOB DUTIES

    • Provide administrative support for the entire department as needed.
    • Perform specialized administrative duties to assist Collection Support as needed.
    • Oversea all facility related tasks.
    • Ensure the completion of administrative and clerical requirements of company sponsored community investment projects.
    • Schedule and coordinate appointments, meetings, travel arrangements and conference calls.
    • Assist HR in all recruiting and new hire on-boarding processes.

    Qualifications

    Knowledge

    • Administrative and clerical procedures and systems
    • Basic software applications (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, Lotus, Access, Internet, Email)
    • Customer service strategies and techniques (e.g., handling customer complaints, checking for customer satisfaction)
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Access, and Project
    • Basic knowledge of general office procedures
    • Office equipment (e.g., printers, telephones, copiers, fax machines, etc.)
    • In-depth knowledge of GM Financial operations, policies, staff, and procedures
    • Thorough understanding of corporate secretarial and general office procedures

    Skills

    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Handling confidential matters and information
    • Operating basic office equipment (e.g., fax, copier, phone, etc.)
    • Using basic software applications (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, Lotus, Access, Internet, Email)
    • Advanced grammar, spelling and proofreading skills
    • Accurate typing, 10-key and word processing skills
    • Ability to type 60 WPM
    • Advanced and accurate typing and word processing skills, with the ability to type 70+ WPM
    • Excellent organizational skills
    • Ability to work independently
    • Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines
    • Ability to make independent decisions, solve problems, and exercise discretion relating to the performance of day-to-day duties
    • Ability to make routine arithmetic computations and tabulations with speed and accuracy
    • Ability to speak effectively with customers or employees
    • Excellent grammar, spelling and proofreading skills
    • Ability to work independently with limited supervision

    Experience

    • 2-3 Years ​Knowledge of organizational mission, policy and procedures needed. Preferred

    Work Condition

    • Occasional overtime or split shifts may be required;Subject to loud noise;normal office environment;Fast-paced office environment;Strong focus on providing quality service to internal and external customers;Work a flexible schedule including extended business hours, weekends and holidays;Work additional hours based on production demands requiring mandatory overtime;Flexible schedule with possibility of working long hours;Limited travel may be required to support business needs

    Education

    • High School ​Strong written and oral communications skills needed Required
