  • Overview

    The Payment Services Lease Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Lease team to achieve optimal business results and outstanding customer service related to consumer and commercial leasing. This position requires a thorough knowledge of consumer and commercial leasing and the various products offered.  This manager develops and implements controls to ensure the department is in compliance with Company operating procedures and adherence to state and federal regulations. Including, having contact and interaction with all levels of management and various departments across the organization as well as external customers, automobile dealerships, vendors, auditors and state agencies.


    Manage the staff in the development, implementation and management of processes necessary for accurate and timely processing in lease operations.

    Oversee staff workload assignments and distribution to ensure service level requirements are met, ensuring maximum productivity while maintaining quality service standards.

    Ensure compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements related to motor vehicles involving consumer and commercial lease documentation.

    Identify opportunities and develop tools and programs that will increase department efficiency when servicing branches, automobile dealerships and other business units.

    Provide budget input and manage budget as requested by AVP Payment Services. In addition, maintain the security and confidentiality of pertinent information and records.

    Participate in planning and successfully executing corporate and departmental initiatives.

    Monitor and maintain internal controls to ensure goals and procedures are followed and perform projects and additional duties as assigned or directed.

    Manage team members by establishing annual performance goals, allocating resources, assessing annual performance, and determining individual merit, incentive and/or promotional increases.

    Ensure adequate staffing, training and technological/facility needs of team members.

    Develop effective relationships with other departments to better understand their operations, strategies and service expectations

    Advanced knowledge of credit and debit processing in finance or banking environment.

    Advanced knowledge of Excel.

    Advanced knowledge of leasing as it relates to consumer and commercial installment contracts.

    Basic knowledge of credit and debit processing in finance or banking environment.

    Exposure to consumer lending, commercial lending, leasing, or corporate banking.

    Knowledge of financial analysis and cash management.

    Knowledge of Microsoft Office.

    Knowledge of Oracle.

    Working knowledge of liability and physical damage insurance for automobiles.

    Working knowledge of project management to implement processes and procedures.

    Working knowledge of the accounts receivable process.


    Ability to lead, motivate, and manage a significant number of team members.

    Ability to manage people and lead them to achieve company goals.

    Additional Knowledge Skills and Abilities

    Advanced knowledge of Accounts Receivable system processes including payment posting logic for consumer and commercial leases.

    Working knowledge of customer service, loan servicing and collections, systems and operating procedures.

    Working knowledge of GM Financial's business segments for effective application of operational strategies.
