The Commercial Credit Analyst is responsible for researching and analyzing credit risks, assessing credit history and approving or denying extension of credit to potential commercial customers. Develops and maintains positive business relationships with dealers, commercial customers and field sales staff. Render appropriate credit decisions for commercial financing requests.



  • Analyze commercial credit applications to determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit and make prudent business decisions to approve or deny the extension of credit within established credit authority.
  • Analyzes financial statements, collateral, debt service, personal financial statements and personal cash flow, as applicable to the size and complexity of the commercial transaction.
  • Develop and maintain business relationships with dealership personnel that ensure volume objectives and credit quality.
  • Effectively maintain consistent purchase policy based on dealer support, portfolio liquidation and management direction.
  • Ensure all queues are worked to acceptable CVL service levels.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable policies and procedures.
  • Support internal and external sales as required to complement sales activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.



  • Reports to: Commercial Credit Manager - CVL
  • Direct Reports: None




  • Advanced knowledge of indirect retail auto financing including knowledge of credit laws and regulations.
  • Thorough knowledge of the credit decision process and documentation involved.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial statement analysis.
  • Proficient in intermediate MS Word and Excel applications.



  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to independently evaluate and make consistent, quality credit decisions within company guidelines.
  • Must be well organized, detail oriented and capable of managing multiple opportunities simultaneously.
  • Sales skills necessary to develop and maintain productive dealer relationships.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.



  • Two or more years of credit buying experience preferred.
  • Experience in automotive lending environment preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required.



  • High energy and fast paced office subject to stressful conditions.
  • Some travel may be required.
  • Work schedule may include some nights, weekends, or holidays.
