The Facilities Planning Manager ITS manages logistical issues as related to the design, implementation and maintenance of computer hardware infrastructure and personnel facilities. The manager interfaces with other company departments and outside




  • Provide technical assistance to facilitate the design of new facilities to support computer hardware requirements.
  • Provide technical assistance to facilitate the design of facilities to support ITS personnel.
  • Provide technical assistance to ITS departments to ensure that stacking, electrical and mechanical requirements for future growth are provided.
  • Manage the creation and maintenance of documentation pertaining to the electrical and mechanical support environments related to computer hardware.
  • Maintain knowledge of existing and future computer support requirements.
  • Provide technical assistance to corporate Facilities Management to ensure continuity.
  • Develop and maintain appropriate vendor relationships to assure goods and services meet requirements and are delivered to the operating unit and team members in a timely manner.
  • Manage any escalated problems that may arise while ensuring effective problem resolution.
  • Provide training and guidance to facilities planning staff.

Reports to: VP User Solutions

Direct Reports: ITS Facilities Planner I and II



  • Advanced working knowledge of electrical and mechanical requirements pertaining to computer hardware, as well as space requirements to facilitate hardware and personnel.
  • Advanced knowledge of various computer components and the use of current networking technology.  


  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to interact effectively with internal customers and outside vendors.
  • Ability to read and understand manuals pertaining to electrical, mechanical and space requirements of computer related hardware.
  • Mathematical ability to calculate hardware power consumption and economical feasibility of various vendor proposals.
  • Excellent planning, organization, and logistics skills.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to lead and coordinate others to accomplish goals.  


  • College degree, Business Management or Computer Science preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Two years' progressively responsible experience performing duties of a facilities planner.
  • Vendor management and computer operations background preferred.


Normal office environment, though may at times require activities in an unenclosed building with outdoor exposure. Mental effort involved may be stressful as it relates to the time frame to complete particular projects.
