The GMF Funding Operations Funder is responsible for funding auto loans or leases while maintaining the highest level of integrity.  The Funder evaluates all documents, programs, and verifications for validity prior to funding the loan or lease.  This team member interfaces and provides superior customer service to internal and external customers (i.e. credit center personnel, automobile dealers, loan applicants, etc.).



  • Perform accurate credit investigation, analysis, verifications and audit of all documentation required to complete the loan or lease funding processes, according to the company’s operating policies and procedures within the assigned deliverable standards
  • Ensure all credit decision requirements, documents and/or stipulations are followed and/or obtained
  • Maintain current knowledge of state and federal regulatory requirements relating to contract documentation, lien perfection, and the company’s operating programs, policies and procedures
  • Provide quality customer service to the credit center and dealer network, while ensuring potential risk is minimized for the company through thorough and accurate verification
  • Basic negotiation, follow up and relationship building skills
  • Establish relationships with credit center team members and dealership personnel
  • Maintain a consistent and high level of communication with internal and external customers via all sources of communication (i.e. phone, email, and system documentation)
  • Maintain and promote the highest level of integrity while developing one’s own skills and competencies
  • Maintain the security and confidentiality of pertinent information and records
  • Set high standards of performance for self
  • Must have excellent multi-tasking abilities and maintain high productivity in a fast paced environment
  • Understand team objectives and how the individual team member contributes to the team goal.
  • Work diligently to help team reach goals, including assisting other teams in the department as needed

  • Basic knowledge of state and federal regulatory requirements as it relates to motor vehicle lease contract documentation and lien perfection
  • Basic knowledge of credit investigation/verification process, including basic knowledge of credit bureau information
  • Knowledge of generally accepted office practices, procedures and basic office equipment



  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills

  • Interpersonal skills necessary to promote a cooperative team environment and provide good customer service
  • Basic computer skills including the ability to navigate multiple windows and applications and utilize search tools to find information

  • Accurate data entry and 10-key skills



  • 1+ years of loan processing experience in finance/credit related industry preferred
  • High school education or equivalent required
  • Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred; additional work experience will be considered in lieu of degree



  • Fast-paced environment, subject to stressful situations as they relate to daily deadlines, dealing with vendors, customers, credit centers, dealers and other departments
  • Working overtime, holidays, and weekends may be required to meet company needs
