Overview

The Business Systems Analyst II – Credit Systems provides intermediate level system support for the originations related software applications used by multiple business departments. These responsibilities include the gathering and documenting of requirements to facilitate enhancements, changes and/or fixes within the Credit Systems applications. Additional support includes application configuration and maintenance, systems testing, and end-user production support. The Business Systems Analyst II – Credit Systems will be involved throughout the software development lifecycle as the requirements subject matter expert and is expected to take ownership for the delivery of the solution. Additionally, the Business Systems Analyst II – Credit Systems will provide both technical and functional support to the end-users and will have a solid understanding of the business processes and how those processes relate to the associated business applications.

 

 

Responsibilities

JOB DUTIES:

  • Formulate and define systems scope and objectives based on the business needs, a thorough understanding of business systems, and industry standards.
  • Ensure production support tickets are resolved accurately, effectively and according to priority.
  • Assist in resolving production outages or other system issues and ensure the issues are resolved in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Gather, analyze and document business and functional requirements and recommend innovative solutions.
  • Plan, organize and direct the implementation of business solutions in accordance with company and organizational strategies.
  • Develop and manage relationships with business, internal and external IT partners to provide technology based solutions to business needs.
  • Perform intermediate level critical analysis to creatively solve problems.
  • Support development, QA and UAT activities as it pertains to system functionality throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Identify application risks, impacts, options and recommendations for mitigation.
  • Create and maintain process flows, component diagrams, and detailed process functionality.
  • Coordinate and lead interaction across multiple platforms and groups in order to produce quality deliverables.

OTHER IMPORTANT DUTIES

  • Maintain intermediate level technical and functional awareness and competence of support business applications, and organizational and industry technology standards
  • Participate in the Credit Systems on-call rotation which includes after-hours and weekend support as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:

Reports to: AVP - Credit Systems or Credit Systems Manager

Qualifications

Knowledge

  • Thorough and advanced working knowledge of GM Financial/AmeriCredit’s retail and lease credit systems both technically and operationally.
  • Intermediate level understanding and experience with the software development lifecycle.

Skills

  • Ability to interpret complex business rules and customer requirements for the purpose of creating system and process documentation
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and follow-up skills with the ability to meet time sensitive deadlines.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and priorities while still maintaining overall productivity and deliverables
  • Capable of acting as a liaison by relating business issues to internal and external ITS partners, and relating technology solutions to business customers.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with all levels of the organization; ability to communicate and present concepts and processes in an easy to understand way to a diverse audience
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation
  • Ability to build consensus, use active listening skills, and to work harmoniously with others in getting the job done while promoting a culture of teamwork, excellence, and integrity.
  • Comfortable making decisions after assessing risks and mitigations with some management involvement
  • Ability to write and interpret intermediate level SQL queries

Experience

  • High school degree or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer studies preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years support experience in an IT environment or respective business area in analyzing and implementing applications systems

WORK CONDITION:

Work is conducted in a professional office environment subject to stressful situations arising from meeting deadlines, and managing multiple projects and priorities. Some travel to company and vendor sites is required, including outside the United States. Evening and weekend work as required.
