The Compensation Analyst II is responsible for implementing, administering and assisting with the design of compensation programs for the corporation, ensuring compensation practices are aligned with corporate strategy. This team member will provide compensation support and guidance to various business units in the areas of salary evaluations, FLSA exemptions, job description facilitation and review, and the overall compensation process, including merit increases.



  • Evaluate current and newly created job descriptions for components such as level cutters, an appropriate title, the GM Financial format, and descriptive knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Review position classifications to assure compliance with the Fair Labor Standards Act
  • Conduct job analysis, market pricing, and internal equity review to determine base pay and salary grade recommendations for new positions.  
  • Participate in published salary surveys, conduct customized salary surveys, and evaluate compensation survey data to determine company's competitive position.  
  • Participate and provide support in the planning and administration of the annual salary review processes for assigned business units.  
  • Review of proposed salary adjustments for conformance to established guidelines, policies, and practices.
  • Recommend corrective or alternative actions to resolve compensation related problems.  
  • Conduct special compensation audits; determine if individuals/groups need to be adjusted based on market findings.  
  • Stays abreast of federal, state, and local compensation laws and regulations, as well as trends in total compensation practices, in order to ensure Company compliance with related legislation and total compensation market competitive practices.  
  • Supports various compensation projects as assigned, and prepares various reports and analyses regarding compensation plan performance.  
  • Assists management in administration of compensation policies and procedures
  • Perform special projects as needed, such as salary structure analysis, geographic analysis, process improvements, etc.  



May participate in other employee rewards programs

Reports to: Compensation Supervisor

Direct Reports: None



  • Working knowledge of salary surveys and wage and salary structures preferred.
  • Working knowledge of FLSA requirements preferred.
  • Working knowledge of how level cutters, internal equity, and external equity are applied to market pricing preferred.      


  • Ability to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner
  • Demonstrated acuity with written documents and detail.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret statistical data
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to work independently and on a team on multiple projects      


  • Minimum 2-4 years’ experience in compensation. Industry experience preferred.
  • High School degree or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  •  CCP certification  preferred
