The IT Strategy, New Markets, and Special Initiatives Director leads the IO IT team’s efforts in:


  • Entering new markets in with core automotive finance products, including retail financing, retail leasing, and commercial / wholesale financing (i.e. dealer financing)
  • Adding or expanding new lines of business that are complementary to our existing business model, such as insurance and deposit taking
  • Partnering with business leadership to explore new business models (ride sharing, fractional leasing, short term renting) and defining the IT strategies and solution that would be necessary to support them


Additionally, this role will be responsible for other key efforts such as benchmarking and exploring / identifying opportunities for the IT organization to be more effective and efficient.


  • Works with the CIO to contribute to the development of the IT team’s strategy to support business growth
  • Defines IT strategies for efficiently entering new markets; plans and manages the execution of the IT efforts necessary for new market entry
  • Plans and manages the execution of the IT efforts necessary for start-up of new lines of business
  • Collaborates with Chief Strategy Officer to investigate new business growth opportunities and provides IT input into business case development;
  • Leads IT efforts to benchmark functional capability and cost effectiveness
  • Collaborates across the IT team to refine overall IT strategy and develop specific plans to address gaps based on benchmarking and business priorities


  • Proven experience in successfully executing large projects
  • 7 years or more of management experience
  • 5 years in the auto finance industry with a broad understanding of retail origination, discounting, credit risk, loan servicing, and collections
  • Mergers and acquisitions experience a plus

  • Strong program and project management experience including experience delivering projects using rigorous project management methodologies
  • Excellent vendor management skills
  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills including the ability to review, interpret and present data in a concise and precise manner
  • Excellent team and time management skills managing multiple deadlines for self and others
  • Strong communication skills with experience working directly with executive leadership, as needed to present, review, discuss vendor management topics
  • Extensive leadership experience demonstrating ability to lead teams, lead multiple initiative across the planning and governance function, and drive results
  • Ability to translate strategic direction to tactical action plans
  • Ability to move between strategy and project detail with ease
  • Ability to navigate within a matrix environment and execute for multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to understand and apply BPI and BPMS principles
