Job description


The Technical Application Specialist III (SuccessFactors) is responsible for providing analysis and second-tier support for the business areas assigned to them. The position involves, but is not limited to, the analysis, design and estimation of medium to large-scale projects, product support, and coordination with team members on project development. This position involves moderate coordination with other departments, business partners, and outside vendors in order to provide customer support.




Job Duties


Partner with various Departments to gather and understand customer requirements to provide innovative solutions and recommend system, product and process enhancements.

  • Provide global technical support for the SuccessFactors technology portfolio specifically one or more Talent Management module: Performance Management, Goal Management, Learning Management (LMS), Career Development, Onboarding, Collaboration (JAM) and Succession
  • Perform configuration tasks for SuccessFactors and assist in the testing of configurations to satisfy requests for fixes, changes, enhancements and compliance
  • Provide applications second-tier support for systems issue resolution, including monitoring scheduled application interfaces ensuring data integrity
  • Coordinate with program development teams on software interfaces used by upstream & downstream business applications
  • Coordinate with multiple internal business units including managers and business partners to plan, manage and facilitate completion of multiple projects
  • Provide documentation of business rules, functional specifications, and process interpretation for assigned applications, systems, and business solutions
  • Design and create production and ad hoc reports
  • Create test plans, training materials and system documentation to help facilitate end user training sessions, knowledge transfer, and user adoption of SuccessFactors modules
  • Provide After Hours Support as assigned

  • Assist with systems implementations and the evaluation of the results
  • Ability to provide prompt, high-quality customer service to members, staff, vendors, and internal/external customers
  • Perform special projects and other related duties as assigned/required

  • Thorough understanding of Personal Computer and Information Systems operations
  • Experience in one or more core HR / Talent Management practices is required (Compensation, Benefits, Recruiting, Performance Management, Workforce Planning, Career Development, Recruiting, Learning)
  • Working knowledge of project management methodology (Waterfall, Agile)
  • Working knowledge of relational database structures, models, and diagrams


  • Ability to interpret and/or write system documentation and programming specifications
  • Good analytical, organizational, problem solving and follow-up skills with the ability to meet time sensitive deadlines
  • Capable of relating business issues to the ITS staff in an effort to achieve the necessary resolution of issues
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to make sound decisions and exercise good judgment
  • Proficiency with the SuccessFactors application, specifically focused on Talent Management modules of Performance Management, Goal Management, Learning Management (LMS), Collaboration (JAM) and Succession
  • Beneficial knowledge of additional business applications such as Office 365, SharePoint, Kaltura, Cognos, KRONOS, iCIMS, or ADP
  • Ability to write SQL/Crystal queries of simple to medium complexity
  • Comfortable leading / presenting live and remotely facilitated training; communicate succinctly, and able to coach or mentor others
  • Must be a team player and have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision


  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in computer studies or related business area preferred; high school degree with equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 4-6 years progressive support ERP HR experience in an IT environment and respective business area in analyzing and implementing applications systems
  • Minimum of 2 years experience supporting SuccessFactors Talent Suite

Work Condition

Normal office environment. Subject to stressful situations as they relate to deadlines and dealing with business partners, other departments, and outside vendors. Some travel to company and vendor sites is required.
