The Remarketing Distribution Specialist is responsible for managing lease vehicle inventory and the GM Financial vendors that support the Distribution Center (DC).  The DC supports the removal of off-lease inventory from the grounding dealer’s property and supports GMF DealerSource upstream sales.  The Distribution Center Specialist will be responsible for completing a wide variety of complex tasks and will have direct contact with external vendors including inspection companies, Distribution Center employees, transportation vendors and dealerships to ensure optimal business results and objectives are achieved.  Involvement with the GM Financial Dealer Services team and GM dealers to ensure the efficient movement of vehicles may be required.  This position will be primarily located in Belcamp, MI.



  • Responsible for managing vehicle transportation from the dealership to the DC, managing delivery times and transportation expenses for up to 3,500 vehicles per month
  • Ensure timely vehicle inspection completions to support upstream sales on GMF DealerSource,
  • Develop processes and monitor systems to ensure online inventory is appropriately staged for purchasing dealer pickup on GMFDS sales
  • Responsible for timely coordination of outbound vehicles to assure proper distribution to intended venues, managing cycle times and expenses
  • Assure inventory is in properly designated areas of the lot at all times; conduct a physical inventory on a quarterly basis or as deemed necessary
  • Perform/assist with inventory and vendor audits as necessary
  • Perform follow-up and resolution for transportation related damages as identified
  • Assist in the online sales arbitration process by reviewing documentation and providing recommendations to management based on GM/GMF arbitration policies and strategy
  • Support the auction Remarketing Specialist with high volume sales, which may include reconditioning decisions and representing vehicles on sale day
  • Maintain relationships with GM dealers and buyers as it relates to GMF DealerSource sale processing and ensure a strong customer experience
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with outside vendors using clear and concise communication
  • Complete other assignments as determine by leadership or as identified
  • Support Customer Experience objectives by providing exceptional customer service to our vendors, dealers and GM Financial colleagues

  • Knowledge of the auction and remarketing industry is required
  • Experience managing transportation, logistics or online vehicle sales is preferred
  • Knowledge of Remarketing vendor systems such as AutoIMS, OpenLane’s platform, and AutoVIN



  • Must possess the ability to work independently, be self-motivated, and utilize time wisely
  • Ability to professionally represent GM Financial and maintain working relationships with vendors/auction personnel.
  • Outstanding communication and organizational skills
  • Detail oriented with strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Team player with the ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Good interpersonal skills, with an ability to maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, vendor personnel, and management
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products.



  • Automotive remarketing experience in both On-line and physical auction sales is preferred
  • Automotive Finance Industry experience and/or IARA Certified Automotive Remarketer / CAR certification is preferred
  • College degree required; equivalent work experience will also be considered



  • The position will be located at a transportation facility in Belcamp, MI
  • Occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions of all types
